Color Therapy
According to Wikipedia on color analysis, there is evidence the colors a person wears can affect how others perceive him or her; according to a British study, red and pink are thought to signal sexual attractiveness, particularly when worn by women. Dark colors like black or navy may convey authority or simply make the wearer seem less approachable. The theories of color also teach that certain colors are capable of emphasizing or de-emphasizing an individual's attractiveness to others. Unflattering colors may make a person look pale, for instance, or draw attention to such flaws as wrinkles or uneven skin tone. Flattering colors have the opposite effect.
Several ancient cultures including the Egyptians and Chinese practiced chromo therapy or using colors to heal.
Chromo therapy is sometimes referred to as light therapy or color therapy and is used today as a holistic or alternative treatment. It is the science that uses colors to modify or to keep the vibrations of the body in a frequency that results in health, welfare and harmony according to Innovative Improvements.
Imagine being able to affect others reaction to you when just changing the color of your clothing? Which colors would you choose if you knew how to soothe someone? How to attract attention? Which color makes babies cry more? Which color may appear artificial?
Let's start with Green. Green is one of the most popular colors today. It symbolizes nature and is the easiest color on the eye. Green can improve vision. It is a calming and refreshing color. Hospitals often use green because it relaxes patients. Dark green is considered masculine, conservative and implies wealth.
We'll move on to Red. Reds are the most emotionally intense color there is and can stimulate a faster heartbeat and breathing. It has been considered the color of love. Red clothing gets notice and can make you look heavier. It is not a color to wear for negotiations or confrontations. Someone with high blood pressure may reconsider wearing this color.
What about pink? Pink is most romantic and is more tranquilizing. To tranquil stressful moments in your life wear a pink outfit.
Next is yellow. Yellow is a happy and attention getter color. It is an optimistic color but people tend to lose their tempers in yellow rooms and babies will cry more around yellow. Pediatric nurses should probably consider not wearing yellow uniforms.
Soothing Blue is the color of the sky and of the ocean. It is one of the most popular colors. It is a peaceful and tranquil color causing the body to product calming chemicals. Wearing blue is a sign of loyalty. People are known to be more productive in blue rooms. Maybe all business should paint their walls in blue.
Black is the color that shows authority. It is known to make people look thinner and never goes out of style. Black can also mean submissive and make one seem aloof. Black is a great color in clothing for those on the heavy side.
White clothing symbolizes innocence and purity. It reflects light and is considered a summer color. It goes with everything but does show dirt more than any other color. Doctors and nurses wear white to imply sterility.
Brown is the reliable color and is abundant in nature. Brown can be sad and wistful. Most men say brown is one of their favorite colors. Women who want to catch a man's attention may consider wearing brown with a red accessory.
And last but not least is purple. The color of royalty and implies wealth and sophistication. It is also considered by some to be romantic but can make people appear artificial.
