What Is Maca or Peruvian Ginseng?

The maca root is a is an herbaceous biennial plant or annual plant (which is rich in sugars, starches, protein, iodine and iron) which produces a radish-like root and only grows on the Andean central sierra of Peru in JunÃn (San Blas) and Pasco at altitudes between 4,000 and 4,500 meters, in the Puna agro-ecologic zone.
